B2B PlatformUX/UIProduct ConfiguratorDesign System

Information architecture, UX and product configurators for the European leader in biophilic and acoustic design.

Greenmood
Context

A European leader with a catalog that outgrows a standard interface.

Greenmood designs and manufactures biophilic and acoustic design solutions for professional spaces. Living walls, acoustic panels, modular partitions. Their catalog is vast, technical, and each product comes in dozens of configurations. Their positioning is premium, their clientele is B2B: architects, interior designers, facility managers. The goal wasn't to create a showcase website. It was to build a working tool.

Challenge

A complex catalog without the structure to support it.

The existing site didn't reflect the depth of Greenmood's offering. Products were numerous, variants plentiful, but the information architecture didn't allow B2B users to navigate efficiently. Sales reps spent time explaining what the platform should have shown. Architects couldn't find the technical specifications they needed to specify products. A system designed for the catalog's real complexity was missing.

Thinking

Thinking in product, not in pages.

Before opening Figma, we mapped the entire catalog: product families, variants, options, technical specifications, use cases. We identified three distinct user profiles: the architect who specifies, the facility manager who compares, the Greenmood sales rep who presents. Each profile had different journeys and different information needs. The structure had to serve all three without compromise. We designed the information architecture as a progressive filtering system, not a static tree.

Approach

Configurators, component system and use-case navigation.

The interface was structured around two axes: navigation by product category and navigation by use case. An architect looking for an acoustic solution for an open space reaches the right product in three clicks, without going through the full catalog tree.

Product configurators are the heart of the project. Each configurable product has a dedicated interface where the user selects dimensions, materials, finishes, and visualizes the result in real time. We designed the configuration logic in collaboration with Greenmood's technical team to ensure every displayed combination is actually manufacturable.

The design system was built to support catalog diversity without exploding in complexity. Modular components, adaptable grid, technical typography for specs, editorial layout for use cases. The system had to work equally well for a minimal product page and a configurator with 15 options.

Execution

Structured delivery for an internal technical team.

We delivered a complete system: detailed wireframes, interactive prototypes, documented design system, configurator functional specifications. The component architecture was designed so Greenmood's internal development team could implement and maintain the platform without external dependency. Each configurator was specified with its business rule logic, interface states and edge cases.

Impact

A platform that works for the business.

The platform transformed how Greenmood presents its offering. Sales reps use the configurators in client meetings. Architects configure and specify independently. The catalog, previously hard to grasp, became a tangible competitive advantage.
